Echo (FC Abby Von Riggan Hibbs) was bred to Vimy (FC Vimy Ridge Von Lowenherz) on 2-18-12 and 2-19-12. Vimy is owned by Scot Davidson of Cedar Rapids, IA and Echo is owned by me. This will be a first breeding for both these dogs and I expect good things from this litter. These dogs are both high energy dogs and do not lack enthusiasm when working. These dogs have both shown promising things in their first tracking seasons and also excel at hunting rabbits. Both dogs voice when getting on hot rabbit scent. I will confirm the pregnancy in less than a month through ultrasound. If all goes well we should be expecting pups around 4-21-12. I have a waiting list of new puppy owners for this litter. It is possible there could be a pup or two available once the litter is here. If you are interested in a Wirehaired Dachshund as a companion, and working partner, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The B-Litter pups have been gone to their new homes for a couple of weeks now. I really enjoyed the B-Litter and have had some good reports of their early deer liver drag trainings. It seems as though they are all adjusting well. I have included some recent pictures below that I have received from a couple of the new owners. I also included a picture of Scout relaxing after doing a fine job whelping and raising the B-Litter. If all goes well Echo may be whelping the C-Litter in April. We will see.
Yesterday Bullet was picked up by his new owners and headed home to Alabama. Bullet will be owned by Willis and Kathy McGee. Bullet will live amongst some 1800 acres that Willis manages to produce trophy Alabama Whitetails. Willis showed me some pictures of the deer that were taken in that area this past season and I was impressed. I look forward to hearing some good tracking stories about Bullet in the future. Willis and Kathy are also planning on attending the upcoming Trackfest sponsored by United Blood Trackers coming up in Richton Mississippi March 3rd-6th. Bullet was the last of the B-Litter to go home. I really enjoyed the B-Litter and have heard they all are adjusting well to their new homes and families.
Yesterday and today two more of the B-litter pups went home with their new owners. Bella went home with Ray and Claudia Holohan of Illinois. Ray and Claudia are the owners of Rosco the B-litter pups sire. Ray is an experienced tracker and will now have one more dog to add to the pack. That is if he can get her away from Claudia.
Bucky returned home with Derek Bagby and his two daughters of Illinois. Derek is an avid hunter and is looking forward to training and tracking with his new pup. When Bucky isn’t tracking there is a real possibility he will be getting spoiled at home by Derek’s daughters Trisha and Lauren. I wish these family’s all the best of luck and look forward to hearing of the future tracking adventures of these owners and their pups.
Blitz and Boyd left for their new homes yesterday and today. Blitz will be living in Kansas with the family of Brian Spear. Boyd is only going down the road a few miles and will live in Iowa. He will be part of the Brad Becker family. Both dogs will get work tracking as both new owners are hunters as are a lot of their family and friends. I wish both families the best of luck with the new additions to their households. I am also looking forward to getting updates as to some of their future tracking adventures.
