Harvest Moon Classic Field Trials

I just returned from the Harvest Moon Field Trial event held in Roscoe Illinois. This fall classic event puts on 8 field trials hosted by 4 different dachshund clubs. I was able to attend 6 of the 8 trials this year. These grounds now named the Northern Illinois Brace Club are said to be one of the best grounds for rabbits in the country. This event is very well run and organized. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something that you and your dachshund would enjoy doing together.

Jetta was able to earn her Field Champion Title with a needed first placement on October 9th. On the 10th she ran as a Field Champion and got a 2nd placement. I am very happy with Jetta’s rabbit hunting style as she uses her voice appropriately. She knows when to turn it on and off correctly and opens easily. She also has shown voice when tracking deer.

My friend Scot Davidson was able to place a 1st with his dog Vimy in the Field Champion Dog class one day, and then also take the absolute win for that day. Vimy is a great dog, and an experienced Field Champion. He is the stud dog I have used for some recent breeding’s. He has sired numerous pups that have become successful deer trackers.
